When I was a kid, waiting for the Sears Christmas catalog to arrive was a big deal. It was where we learned what the hot toys for the season were, how we built our wish list, and it also provided hours of entertainment. Now, depending on your own age, you are either nodding your head along and reminiscing or wondering just how old is she? Either way, the current equivalent for credit unions is out and available.
CUNA’s Environmental or E-Scan is the annual look at the top ten issues expected to impact credit unions in the coming year. Topics like finding relevance with young consumers, the talent evolution, diversifying revenue sources, and focus on fair lending are all covered with thoughtful articles and additional insights, and they are all topics that are currently facing credit unions in Montana, too.
The best part about the E-scan is that it is available in multiple formats and can easily be incorporated into your strategic planning. In fact, a free webinar with speaker Jeff Rendel is offered to give your board insight into the 2023-2024 list. While maybe not quite as exciting as the gift of toys for the holiday, it does provide perspective on issues your credit union may already be facing or sees coming soon.
