The HYPE

I started at Montana CU on February 6, 2020, right before the nationwide shutdown. Since starting at Montana CU, I have had the opportunity to work as a Teller, Member Service Rep, Loan Officer, and, finally, Accounting Specialist. I have a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Phoenix (Class of 2016). I am responsible for Accounts Payable, daily balancing, help prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, supply orders, and loan product refunds. As the Accounting Specialist, I work closely with a variety of departments to ensure everything balances and everything works like it should.

If I am not working, then I am usually planning my family’s next vacation or party. I also enjoy gardening, reading, or just hanging out with family and friends. I am excited to be a part of HYPE because it pushes me out of my comfort zone and allows me to share my knowledge and gain knowledge from others.

HI, I’m Jayne Haynie! I have been an Ag/Commercial Loan officer at Grasslands Federal Credit Union since 2020, where I’ve developed a strong passion for supporting local producers and businesses. Being part of the Young Professionals (HYPE) group within the Credit Union has been especially meaningful to me, as it has provided opportunities to grow as a leader, build connections, and contribute to our organization in new ways.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I’m an avid runner and recently completed my first half-marathon, which was a rewarding personal milestone. I also enjoy playing piano for our local school and church, which gives me a creative outlet and a chance to unwind.

Hi, I’m Katelyn Kotka, Branch Manager with Clearwater Credit Union for our Butte branch. I started my journey with Clearwater in 2020 as a Universal Associate and have since worked my way into a leadership role, where I help support branch operations on a daily basis. When I first began, I didn’t fully understand the difference between a bank and a credit union, but working in the credit union industry has truly stolen my heart. I love the care we’re able to show our members and the opportunity we have to empower them in their financial journeys.

Being a part of HYPE has been one of my favorite opportunities since joining the credit union. It has allowed me to network and build connections with other young professionals who have become friends, as well as connect with other credit union professionals across the industry.

On my free time, you’ll find me at Canyon Ferry spending time in the sun—either on our boat, fishing, or around a campfire enjoying quality time with family and friends.

Ally Songstad joined the credit union movement in February 2022. She is the Marketing & Community Relations Specialist at Billings Federal Credit Union, where she leads efforts to grow brand visibility, community engagement, and membership. She is actively involved in the Billings community and beyond, serving on the Billings Chamber Advisory Board, ACU Grassroots Committee, and on Montana’s Credit Unions HYPE Committee. In 2025, she was honored as Montana’s Credit Unions Young Professional of the Year. Outside of work, Ally enjoys golfing, running, and visiting their family cabin in the Wyoming mountains.

Hi, I’m Sarah Tanguma! Marketing Assistant at Russell Country Federal Credit Union. I started at the credit union on the teller line, moved into a universal representative role, and now work in marketing. I spend my time working on campaigns, social media, community events, and even some business development. I really enjoy finding ways to connect with our members in a way that feels genuine, and I love being part of a team and seeing ideas come to life.

I love spending time outdoors, especially fishing or just soaking up fresh air and making memories with my family and friends. I’m excited about HYPE because it’s a great opportunity to meet new people, learn from others, and continue growing.
