Thankfulness

There is something about this time of year that seems magical. No, it is not the first dusting of snow or the realization that we have a few months of dark and cold days ahead. It is the expressions of gratitude that I see people expressing as Thanksgiving approaches and the generosity with giving and sharing with those in need.

Sometimes I wonder why we wait until the calendar tells us we can eat a lot of turkey, count our many blessings, and gather with family and friends. But, I am also guilty. Life is busy and routine, and stopping to be in awe of how much is bestowed upon us takes effort.

One of the largest blessings for credit unions is you, our volunteer board members! Your efforts involve representing all the other owners of your financial cooperative, preparing for and attending monthly board meetings, and so much more. You might lose sleep on difficult decisions impacting the credit union or feel like you are just one person, but your time, talent, and passion is appreciated!

So, I wish you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for all of you and for the opportunity to work to support your role.
