Thankful

One of the perks of my role at your trade association is getting out to visit the credit unions in Montana. I have had the privilege of interacting with several credit union staffs and boards in the last several weeks to provide Bank Secrecy Act training, as well as just to say hello when I am passing through.

My biggest takeaway is that there are some very dedicated individuals and teams working in this state to support successful financial futures for members in their communities. I am continually in awe of how hard everyone is working for the benefit of their members, and not their bottom line. It is truly a “People Helping People” philosophy that I encounter repeatedly, even when talking about regulatory issues.

So, this week, as we prepare for turkey day, I want you to know I am thankful for YOU! Your leadership and support as board members provides the opportunity for your credit union to be that beacon of hope and support for so many. We are a stronger state because of it. I know there may be times your volunteer commitment may seem daunting or time-consuming and I just want you to know, we do appreciate all you give!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends! (Note: The blog will be back the week of December 4.)
