Calling All Supervisory Committee Members

August 14, 2019 7:30 am

One of the critical roles in protecting the assets and reputation of a credit union is its supervisory committee. In fact, CUNA’s handbook describes the committee as “responsible for making sure the credit union’s financial records are in order and that internal controls are in place to protect the assets of the credit union and its members.” Wow, that is an important function!

We want to make sure your supervisory committee members have the knowledge they need to perform their function thoroughly, so we are holding a Supervisory Committee Audit Basics webinar on September 25 with Becky Frederick. Becky is the compliance & audit consultant with the Minnesota Credit Union Network. We have engaged her to assist Montana credit unions with audits given the void we have occurring in many communities due to a couple of long-time auditors retiring.

She has performed many Appendix A audits. Becky is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), a Certified BSA Compliance Specialist, a Certified Information Privacy Professional / United States (CIPP/US) and even holds a Juris Doctor. She is not only a qualified and experienced professional, but you will find that she is a fun and engaging person too!

Plan to join us at 10:00 a.m. (MDT) on Sept. 25 to discuss supervisory committee audits, your role in the audit process, and how Becky can be of assistance to you through our partnership. Use the link above to register, and, if you can’t be available, let Donya know and we can get you a recording and related materials.
