Are you looking to improve your knowledge? Inspired to learn a few new tips and tricks to bring to the boardroom? We have a couple of exciting learning opportunities for you to hone your skills as a board member or supervisory committee member.

A Governance Webinar:

On September 30, there will be a free webinar, Corporate Governance: Simple in Theory, Hard in Practice. Anthony Demangone is the Chief Membership and Engagement Officer at America’s Credit Unions. His session will cut through the complexity and focus on what really matters for effective board leadership: clear roles, the right mix of skills, continuous learning, and strong communication. He’ll explore how to build a cohesive board, avoid common pitfalls like cliques and confusion between governance and management, and create a culture of accountability and ethical leadership.

Whether you’re a seasoned director or new to the boardroom, this session will help you refocus on what it takes to govern with purpose and impact. Register today to save your seat! The recording will be on our Directors’ Training Tools page as a resource after the session.

Credit Union Directors Conference:

You are invited to an in-person conference in Bloomington, MN, October 2-3. The agenda includes sessions for supervisory committee members and directors and provides education, networking, and practical insights to help leaders navigate today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s opportunities. Attendees will explore topics related to governance, strategic oversight, leadership, industry trends, and the evolving role of boards in shaping the future of their credit unions. Learn more and register here. I plan to attend and hope to see you there!

Always Available:

Don’t forget you can also access updated financial literacy modules on our website. They are intended to assist your board in understanding the credit union financial reports and build on their knowledge in order to make educated decisions for the credit union. The modules are each about 21 minutes and can be viewed during a board meeting or individually to enhance your learning.
