Disconnect to Connect: Practicing Mindfulness in the Workplace
Tuesday, October 28, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Do you find yourself distracted at work and at home? Do you fear that you are not working to your full potential with your team or as a leader because of workplace misunderstandings? Are you empathetic as a leader and seek to understand others’ perspectives? In this session, we will take a deep dive into understanding where we are off balance in our lives—both at work and home—and how this affects the experience we create with others.
Many of us can feel that we are technically up to speed in what we do; however, we are not living up to our full potential as a leader or co-worker because we lack the skills to mindfully connect with one another. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present in the current moment and learning how to calmly observe our thoughts and feelings without judgment or action. By learning to disconnect, we can connect in a more intentional, positive way and find common ground with those we work with and care about. Through the daily practice of mindfulness, we can better understand where we are off-balance internally so that we can show up better for those around us, be a more successful leader, and feel more engaged as an employee.

Generative AI is here—and it’s not just for tech companies. In this engaging, non-technical session, Montana-based IT and cybersecurity executive Conor Smith will demystify AI and show how it can help credit unions across the state work smarter—not harder.
From preparing board reports in minutes, to improving performance reviews, to developing strategic plans backed by real-time data, Conor will show how AI is the new “shovel” that replaces the outdated “spoon” many credit unions are still using.
Whether you’re a CEO, manager, or frontline staff member, you’ll leave with practical examples, downloadable tools, and a human-centered mindset for using AI safely, securely, and ethically. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to set the tone for improvement—without losing what makes credit unions great: real people, serving real communities.

The Innovative Mindset: Think Differently. Work Better. Live Well.
Thursday, October 30, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Wellness isn’t just about eating kale and getting your steps in. For today’s credit union professionals, wellness also means mental clarity, creative energy, and the ability to adapt in a world that never stops changing.
And that’s where innovation comes in.
In this high-energy, high-interaction, laugh-filled closing keynote, 29-time Emmy Award winner Bill Stainton shows you how thinking differently isn’t just good for business—it’s essential for well-being. Because when you and your team feel stuck in sameness, it creates stress, burnout, and fatigue. But when you reconnect with curiosity, creativity, and fresh thinking? That’s when the energy returns. That’s when the work becomes meaningful again.
You’ll learn how to:
• Reignite innovation by making surprising connections
• Apply “breakthrough thinking” to everyday challenges
• Turn uncertainty into opportunity
• Use curiosity as a wellness strategy
This is innovation with a purpose—not just to move the credit union forward, but to help the people inside it thrive. Because when we think better, we live better.
