Montana Minimum Wage Increased

January 4, 2021 3:48 pm

On January 1, the minimum wage in Montana increased to $8.75 per hour.

The minimum wage is determined by taking the 2020 minimum wage of $8.65 and increasing it by the CPI-U increase from August of 2019 to August 2020. Montana Code Annotated 39-3-409 requires the Montana Department of Labor & Industry to adjust the Montana minimum wage annually for inflation using the Consumer Price Index for Urban Consumers (CPI-U).

You are not required to have the poster in the credit union, but it can serve as a nice reference for employees, so posting with other notices is encouraged. To download the latest version, use this link. A map of minimum wages by state as of January 1, 2021 is available here.
