The Montana Credit Union Young Professionals (YPs) is an active community of professionals who are around 35 or younger and working in one of our state’s credit unions. The group is working to build momentum and put a plan in place to increase engagement and professional development opportunities for younger credit union professionals.
Members support one another, share ideas, serve as sounding boards, and encourage each other to get the training and experience they need to advance in their credit union careers. Recently, the YPs have taken on a more visible leadership role when it comes to Montana’s Credit Unions for Kids program. In October 2016, they planned a Fall Forum Fundraiser that netted over $10,000 in donations for Shodair, our state’s sole Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. This past year, the YPs staged a “Casino Night” Fundraiser at our Be Inspired conference in October.
In 2018, our two largest conferences —Power Up Conference (May 16–18), and Be Badass! (October 10-12) – will feature training tracks for our Montana YPs.
If you or someone in your credit union is around 35 or younger and interested in networking, sharing knowledge, and professional development and community engagement, contact one of the members of our YP Committee or Kara Connors for more information.
