Give Back with Montana’s Credit Unions

Montana’s Credit Unions is celebrating International Credit Union Day (October 19) by giving back to Montana. Our credit union philosophy revolves around community involvement, and we have set a goal to give back through our Keep the Change, Give Your Time initiative. We want Montanans across the state to support their local credit union by donating 2,017 hours of community service hours during the first 19 days of October. Wondering what you can do?

Find a Local Credit Union

Credit unions across Montana will be creating volunteer opportunities for their staff, members, and the local community. Follow your local credit union on social media to find out what they are doing or give them a phone call.

Do Something Small

Not every act of service needs to be grand—find a way to help out the people surrounding you. Mow a neighbor’s lawn, offer to babysit for free, or drop off some fresh flowers at a retirement home. Find little ways to serve throughout your day!

Invite Your Friends

Inviting your friends and family will not only add up to more volunteer hours, but it will keep things fun! Find something that you can do in a group and pick a weekend to serve.

Log Your Hours

It doesn’t matter how you serve. Don’t forget to log your hours on the Give Your Time website. You will be asked to provide a brief description and the numbers of hours volunteered. You can also share pictures of your service on social media with the tag #MTGivingTime and you can follow @MontanaCU’s for campaign updates and ideas.

You can start logging your volunteer hours from October 1st, so if you’ve done your good deed for the day, visit the site to get involved and make your hours count!
