Lots of fun was woven into the learning at the Mountain Regional Credit Union Roundtable held this week in West Yellowstone, Montana.
Entertainment was by The Disclosures, a musical duo that sings about credit unions. It is such a creative way to teach credit union history, philosophy, and cooperative principles. Their second album is scheduled to be released sometime this fall. There was time for everyone to explore Yellowstone National Park, a national treasure. And, a tasty ice cream social.
Ron Galloway, nationally recognized speaker, filmmaker and author did a great job as our facilitator. Kelly McDonald, a dynamic marketing and advertising expert knocked our socks off with her energy and knowledge about social media and how to keep members rushing back for more.
There were 55 attendees from seven states; 14 sponsors; and eight speakers in all. It was organized by Ranel Smith, MCUN’s education services director. She said the event is popular because participants have the chance to meet and network with peers from two associations as well as their own state not to mention the strong educational topics and speakers.
“I hope they take away new ideas, updates, and even reminders of our foundation and enjoy the chance to meet and network with other credit union attendees,” Smith said.
Next year’s event is hosted by Mountain West Credit Union Association, and plans are in the works.
